Day 14: Teronofuji vs Shimanoumi, the higher ranked Tero was very
patient and waited to establish his grip, right hand underneath to
the mawashi... when he got it, it was then a straightforward pushout
since he is also bigger. Main point was keeping his balance
Takakeisho basically blew Mitakeumi away, straight back and out for
a dominant win.
Day 15: Takakeisho nearly won it as he had Teronofuji leaning too
far forward, but he didn't get there fast enough to push him down.
Tero regained balance, and then got his grip in, lifted Taka up and
put him down on his back! Then, they break and get ready for the
playoff. Suspense builds ... ... ... and then when the match comes
Taka simply blows Tero out and away to take the yusho! The impression
I had after the first match is that Taka was totally spent. He seems
to have had a better recovery though. Both showed their class and
if they stay healthy they will be the next ones on top.
Definitely worth a watch on NHK!
