DAZN are jazzing up the Pirlo vs Lucescu angle, the man that gave him his professional debut in May 95 at Brescia.

The Midgets get the first goal through Morata. Bushchan's tendency to give up
rebounds like a bad hockey goalie is finally punished.

    Morata x2.

Good thing nobody's playing as the Ex-Yugoslavian Brothers anymore since UEFA counts Dejan Lovren's fantastic strike as own goal by Ethan Horvath, at least for the moment.

Bad giveaway by Meunier, and there's the Captain's Goal for Immobile!

    WTH are those Juve shirts???

DAZN are jazzing up the Pirlo vs Lucescu angle, the man that gave him his professional debut in May 95 at Brescia.

The Midgets get the first goal through Morata. Bushchan's tendency to give up rebounds like a bad hockey goalie is finally punished.

(classico gol dell'ex...)

Two left-out Midget goals by Angeli|#o and Bruno Fernandes gets two attempts
from the spot to score a Captain's Goal for the Tugas.

Luiz Felipe with what is likely going to be the first of a long list of missed goals for the Jogo.
For efficiency purposes, UEFA have now changed this to an own goal by Hitz. Ciao,

Big goal for UtN purposes, even more for the purposes of who qualifies from Group H. Lazio's win over Dortmund also interesting.

Oh dear, no Laimer and Sabitzer on the bench.

Laimer out, Lainer (note the difference) in.
Strip Sabitzer of the captaincy and let's give it to Gavranovi-c for the moment.

Everywhere I check it says Sabitzer isn't match-fit. So no need to waste a spot - Sabitzer out, Ercan Kara (Rapid) in.
Atalanta midfielder Remo Freuler: "I could have scored maybe two goals, but the first I missed, and the second I passed on to my friend because he called me. It's my mistake, but in the end, I'm happy with my performance."
You just talked yourself out of next week's line-up, my friend.

No limit as long as it's before kick-off time of the player you want to sub out.

    to sub out.

I think last year I mentioned having completely different teams for the
Tue/Wed CL matches and Thu Europa matches, and was told that wasn't
    allowed.

It was allowed! You had the Tugas and the Coxos.

Problem was, the Coxos ended up with a single goal in 6 matchdays. The Portuguese will be better off pooling their resources.

Nope, that doesn't work. Your initial Tugas lineup was:
DF: Rapha|2l Guerreiro (Dortmund), Jo|uo Cancelo (Man City), Pepe (Porto)
MF: Bruno Fernades(c) (Man United), Danilo (Porto, but I'm not really sure which Danilo this is), Gabriel (Benfica), Andr|- Horta (Braga)
FW: Jo|uo F|-lix (Atletico Madrid), Ricardo Horta (Braga), Rony Lopes (Nice), Francisco Trinc|uo (Barcelona), Rafa Silva (Benfica)
Guerreiro, Cancelo, Pepe, Bruno Fernandes, Danilo, Joao Felix and Trincao play for teams that have already played their matches, so they are locked in. You can't sub them out any more. Otherwise it would be too easy: I pick Joao Felix who shoots a blank in the Wednesday match, let's replace him with Rafael Leao before the Thursday match. (Also, Bruno Fernandes has already collected two points for you, why would you want to sub him out?)
In other words, your lineup can be (ALL CAPS for players locked in)
    DF: GUEREIRO, CANCELO, PEPE
MF: B.FERNANDES (C), DANILO, (Gabriel), (Andre Horta)
FW: JOAO FELIX, TRINCAO, (Ricardo Horta), (Rony Lopes), (Rafa Silva)
You can still substitute freely the players in parentheses, until kickoff of the Benfica, Braga and Nice games. If your captain had not taken the field yet, you can also change your captain until kickoff.
Let me know if that makes sense.

Yeah right. Kane on the bench, Vardy not even in the Leicester squad. Pah!

Vardy out, Sessegnon (Hoffenheim) in. Still, stripping 'Arry of the captaincy looks like tempting fate. Even if they're playing LASK.

    Definitely.

Perhaps we should indeed split Roofe 1/2-1/2, and continue to decide future cases ad hoc. Shouldn't be that many (Maccabi Tel-Aviv's Nick Blackman comes

I say that for UtN the same rules as international football apply, only harsher. Once a player has been claimed by a UtN lineup, he belongs to that lineup forever (well, at least until the end of this season).
As for the efficiency score, I could assign Kemar Roofe's goal 1/2 and 1/2 to the Bungs and the Rockers. Or, to avoid fractional goals, I could flip a coin and decide who to assign the goal to. So let's say that I flipped the coin and he ended up being a Rocker for Match Day 1. (I never said it was a fair coin...)

You get one point for every scored by one of your selected players (captain goals count double), plus a "Formula 1" style bonus for your ranking within the matchday: 10 points for first place, 6 points for second, 4 points for third, 3 for fourth, 2 for fifth and 1 for sixth place. If there is a tie, the bonus points are split. So, for example, Tugas, Wonderland and Bungs tied for places 4th, 5th and 6th. That's six bonus points total, divided by three, so two bonus points each.

    Tugas 6

    Eder (x2)?
The best possible lineup is the lineup you would have selected if you had perfect foresight and knew the results of the matches and the goalscorers in advance. You would have picked as captain the player who actually scored the most goals. In your case, any one of the five players who actually did score one goal.
I think I put Pizzi and Paulinho in my rejected lineup, and probably had place for them if I had seen the rejection earlier.
Yes, you did. But without clear instructions on who to take out (out of the players not already locked into your lineup), I had no choice but to keep your original lineup.
But hey, despite the confusion about the rules, you had a very respectable score!

You should ignore UEFA nationalities. The ones listed are only for the purposes of determining who counts as a non-European player. Sorry :-(

Although applying your rules, it should be OK to pick Gabriel for the Tugas, but any goal he scores from now on won't count against the Jogo?

I guess you have a point...Anyway, interesting career for Gabriel. Moved to Juve when very young (known as Appelt Pires at the time), went through the usual series of loans to teams in Serie B and below, and eventually broke through at Leganes before transferring to Benfica.

I'm wondering whether it would be worthwhile to secure Musiala for the Bungs.

How well-intended rules can have unintended consequences...

Anyway, *now* Comrade Robert scores a hat-trick? We will need to have talk with the secretary of the Bavarian bureau...

started (unreasonable of me to expect European success from Zlatan, I
    guess)).

Lisakovich left-out goal for the Pact. The Central Committee is not pleased by the neglect shown by the Pact's coach towards the best products of Belarussian football.

From UEFA's website: "Remember the time when Belarus was the only place in Europe where football was being played despite a lockdown everywhere else? That's when Lisakovich, who has just replaced
    Miranchuk, was noticed."

For those who remember Belarusian football from those bygone days, today Shakhtyor Soligorsk won the title on
the last matchday thanks to a goal in the 92nd minute, giving them the win over FC Minsk while at the same time
BATE Borisov were held scoreless against Dinamo Minsk.

Shakhtyor's previous league positions in the last decade:

    2010: 2
    2011: 2
    2012: 2
    2013: 2
    2014: 3
    2015: 3
    2016: 2
    2017: 3
    2018: 2
    2019: 3

BATE on the other hand fail to win the title for the second year in a row, following 13 consecutive wins between
    2006 and 2018.
