They all suck. Yet they are chasing Sancho and Cavani. Long live Ole and Woodward.

The Weauxf Godz are working overtime today.

    LOL. Ancelotti for the title?
Merseyside derby next. When was the last time that one had title implications for both?

I would guess around 88 ? Can't remember how Everton did that year, or whether it was ever all that close at the top ?

    Ciao,
    Werner

Has your whole team caught covid from Man|- and/or Thiago ?

Lots of bad luck with deflections and a few weird refereeing decisions,
but still, as in the game against Leeds, the defending was a shambles.
Gomez in particularly is in a slump but VvD is also below par. The one
game the defending looked good was when Fabinho played back there, and
handled Werner very well - I would have awarded him man or the match, actually.

You can replace Lindelof with Lovren... they were happy to
get rid of him :) I can understand the sentiment, but Liverpool
never conceded 7 goals with him :)

For Maguire we'll give you the promising Rhys Williams. Did well in the Carabao Cup.
For Lindelof you can have a pint of Guinness and a KFC happy meal.
For Bailly, we'll accept -u500 to make him disappear.

There is no title implication for Everton. They are much improved but it's just step 1. If they can even carry their form as far as Leicester did last season (i.e. Dec), that will be a great accomplishment.
All that said, with Covid, no preseason, and no fans, this season has been as queer as a $3 bill so who knows what could happen.

    Seriously looks like it.
Lots of bad luck with deflections and a few weird refereeing decisions,

Adrian - Who is basically Mignolet in disguise. He started well last season but has been a train wreck in 2020. I guess there was a reason he was out of contract and out of club when we picked him up (Alisson is out for 4-6 weeks btw. *shudders*)
Gomez - Has completely lost his shit lately. Suffering from a serious confidence crisis.
TAA - Still a massive defensive liability. People forget that with all his pretty assists. Teams still always target the right side of our defense.
VVD - Suffering from arrogance from too much praise and plaudits. Needs a factory reboot.
Firmino - Woefully out of form.
But as you pointed out, there was something freakish going on yesterday. 3 deflected goals in one game is not normal. Also, the team is playing an even higher line this season (German fetish?) and that has caused quite a few adjustment issues, especially without a proper preseason.
But it's one game so cause for concern but not panic. The team was very solid against both Chelseas and Arsenal.
