Makes it a real crap-shoot with all the resting of start players that
will happen from teams that have qualified or (especially) won their
group. We will have guess at which teams really care about Europa
    league qualification as well.

Not much point picking Barca players, or Liverpool or Chelsea or Sevilla (except for fringe ones)

Well Real Madrid do have something to play for. But which of their
mediocre Spaniards do I pick ?
Atletico also are not safe yet, but will play for a 0-0 draw.
So I guess I have to look mostly at players playing abroad or in the

Cristante has been moved to playing center back, so he's no use there. Let's put Jorginho back in, he could be on penalties. Also, let's load on Inter players: Gagliardini in for Bernardeschi. Finally, Insigne in place of Politano, because tinkering.

I really can't see Salah getting any playing time at all tomorrow. Let's put Dan Biton of Maccabi TA, captain's armband to Dabbur. A lot of the EL teams have nothing to play for either, so expect to see a lot of benched players.

That should be 54 penalties scored out of 63, or 85.7% conversion rate. That's very good (in fact, better than CR7, who is at slightly below 84%)

Sorry, just checked my email. Yes, Waffles are on 2, Rockers on 1 thanks to McKennie's spectacular scissor kick goal that puts Juve up 2-0.

Best performance of the season by Juve so far, but I think this has to do more with the quality of the opposition than anything else.

I really can't see Salah getting any playing time at all tomorrow. Let's put Dan Biton of Maccabi TA, captain's armband to Dabbur. A lot of the EL teams have nothing to play for either, so expect to see a lot of benched players.

Use-the-NT is too stressful. Here am I simultaneously hoping Lukaku

Shocking development, Atalanta is actually fielding an Italian player, Matteo Pessina, also projected to play in an attacking-ish role for the high scoring nerazzurri. In he goes for Darmian, unlikely to start.

Calafiori not even on the bench. Replace with Andrea Conti of Milan. Politano had already subbed Chiesa, but he's not starting. Should I go with one of the Milan youngsters? Daniel Maldini (son and grandson of) would be an interesting choice, even though Lorenzo Colombo is probably the more serious goal threat.

    YES !
Also an important goal by Eikrem for the Babes. Milanese breaks the Armata's perfect efficiency streak. Also Elneny with a left-out goal for the Peaceniks. And why did the Bungs coach leave out the author of this spectacular goal?

I have scored a couple of goals like this in my life, but from much closer range, in futsal.

    Wonderland 10 12
The Tugas, with 6 penalty goals in the last match day capture first place, with a comfortable margin over the Babes.
The Jogo with a remarkable last-minute comeback climb all the way into third place, just barely edging the Bungs.
Rockers are the best of the midtable teams (Siberia and the middle of the Saharan desert await the Pact and Peacenik coaches). Watch and Defaults bring up the rear, with the wooden spoon going to the Wonderland.

The rare feat of 12 different players getting on the scoreboard.

    Jogo 10
    DF:
    MF: Otavio, Everton
FW: Neymar 3 (x2), Willian Jose, Carlos Vinicius
This is more like it by the Jogo.

    Babes 8
    DF: Scholz
MF: Eikrem 2 (x2), Skov, Hauge, Madsen
Painful left-out goals in the late matches, could have made a difference for the Babes

    Tugas 8
    DF:
MF: Bruno Fernandes, Tiago Rodrigues, Pizzi
FW: Cristiano Ronaldo 2 (x2), Ricardo Horta
It's good when your team is stacked with penalty takers.
    Bungs 7
    DF:
    MF: Flores, Barnes
FW: Sterling (x2), Nketiah, Willock, Balogun
Maybe the optimal strategy was just to load up on the RAYs?
    Peaceniks 7
    DF:
    MF: Elneny
    FW: En-Nesyri 2 (x2), Salah, Hatuel
    Sahara desert!

    Watch 7
    DF: S|+le
    MF: Bellarabi, Gaudino
    FW: Beier 2(x2)
Quite disappointing return for the Watch.

    Rockers 6
    DF:
    MF: McKennie
    FW: Bailey 2(x2), Weah

That late Weah goal ruins the Rockers' perfect efficiency score.
    Defaults 5
    DF:
    MF: Lo Celso
    FW: Correa (x2), Driussi, Aguero
A little bit better by the Defaults
    Midgets 5
    DF: Angeli|#o, Hermoso, Saborit
    MF: Ferran Torres (x2)
    FW:
Interesting distribution of scores by the Midgets. Then, no surprise that they would go strikerless.
    Pact 5
    DF: Piszczek, Popov
    MF: Zieli+aski (x2), Hagi
    FW:
The Pact has been corrupted by the decadent bourgeois tiki-taka.

    Wonderland 5
    DF:
    MF: Ritzmaier, Wiesinger, Renner
    FW: Itten (x2)
Lots of different players have gotten on the scoreboard for the Wonderland.
    Armata 4
    DF:
    MF: Jorginho, Milanese
    FW: Immobile (x2)
Milanese ruins the Armata's bid for perfection.

Here are the final efficiency rankings for the season, in terms of goals (both actual and best goals in MD6 count double)
    TotGoals TotBestGoals TotEffGoals
    Armata 22 26 0.846
    Rockers 21 28 0.750
    Tugas 36 58 0.621
    Babes 32 65 0.492
    Bungs 28 58 0.483
    Jogo 25 53 0.472
    Defaults 9 20 0.450
    Peaceniks 17 40 0.425
    Midgets 18 62 0.290

    Watch 15 55 0.273
    Waffles 20 81 0.247
    Wonderland 10 50 0.200
Armata and Rockers take advantage of the slim pickings available to top the efficiency rankings. Having your team name start with a "W" seems to be not so good for the efficiency score. Waffles/Windmills and Babes had the most goalscorers to choose from.
Efficiency points ranking (this is the "all else equal" ranking - what would your score have been if you had picked your best lineup and everybody else had picked your actual lineup)

    Armata 33.2 45.65 0.727

    Waffles 31.2 149 0.209

    Wonderland 12 95.67 0.125

Sometimes you have to commend UEFA when they do things well.

I really enjoy this game, gives you a great reason to browse the depths of European club football

Agreed. Who would have known that Peacenik Joel Abu Hanna would have gotten on the scoreboard in the Zorya Luhansk match? Too bad it was in his own net...

So, are we including the Conference League next year?

    Agreed.

So, are we including the Conference League next year?

The reduced EL will cost us 8 of our 40 weekly games. That's a 25%
reduction. Plus the 2x8 lost lineups will be lineups from small teams.

    I vote for inclusion.
