Alright. Let's try and undo some of last week's disastrous choices.
    Alaba -> Posch (Hoffenheim)
Taferner (what was I thinking) -> Liendl (I should've never doubted you, Maradona of the Alps)
    Shaqiri -> Baumgartner
    Murg -> Fassnacht

They had to compress the schedule. There will be a three-week break after this round of matches, and then three consecutive match days between November 24-25 and December 8-9. If they don't shut down the competitions, of course. A low probability event, but definitely not impossible.

    Midgets

Komrad Lewandowski would like a word.

McKennie was very good for Juve against Spezia: he could have scored the first Juve goal but in an excess of unselfishness laid it off for Morata to tap it in (almost risking the goal to be disallowed for offside). Morata then returned the favor, but a Spezia defender was able to scramble back and clear the ball about 1 meter away from the goal line.

Speaking about Juve, Ronaldo was back in action and scored a brace.

In an unprecedented move, I'm not going to do any tinkering with this. At least until more info about the lineups is announced.

I actually expect a lot of tinkering here. CSKA Moscow sucks, and Dynamo Kyiv won't be playing Ferencvaros. That means Popov, Mario Fernandes, Kuchaev, Supriaha and Chalov are out. We'll see who to replace them with.

My trusty Molde guys are up against Arsenal, so they're out. Zlatan is
not going to score, but if I drop him, he's certain to get a
hattrick. And nobody wants that. Elyounoussi is in by popular demand.

That was one I did not check. I might move him into Wijnaldum's place, especially if Gini is not playing today.

Gladbach have recovered very well from their last-minute draws against Real and Inter and are currently destroying Shakhtar Donetsk, including a left-out Watch goal from Christoph Kramer.

Dynamo Kiev and Ajax have been heavily hit by COVID and will have to play with rump teams.
It appears that after a second round of testing, all Ajax players were cleared to play. Some of them arrived in Denmark two hours before kick-off.
OTOH only 13 Dynamo Kiev players travelled to Barcelona. One more case, and they'd have to forfeit.

    Makes it better.
I missed out on Stindl, Kramer and possibly Berisha (if he is considered German) and then getting robbed of the Muller goal, which was clearly an attempt by muller to knock it in off of the defender. In fact, it was so obvious that Tolisso literally pushed the Casino defender into Mullers cross, cus even he could see what was happening
Missed the start of the game driving up here to Kamp Krusty, but Casino have looked good from what I have seen, started the 2nd half on the attack.

Yeah, I really don't get it. That's applying the criteria used in Serie A up until the 1990s or later: any deflection, from a massive touch that wrongfoots the goalkeeper to the slightest of grazes that doesn't change the direction of the ball, is an own goal.
I thought that football had settled on the non-Italian definition instead: a shot on goal that results in a goal gets credited to the attacker, period. And Kramer's shot was definitely a shot on goal.
OK: having watched it again, I can see how one can say that Bondar didn't just deflect the shot, but actually tried to play the ball. Still, very harsh on him and on Kramer...

    Two goals better than Barcelona.

But yeah, as expected - defence, goalkeeper (even though he wasn't at fault today) and coaching (second time in a row that Salzburg collapse
after Marsch makes an ill-judged sub) not up to par at this level.

It wasn't one of the 3 games shown here, so I was watching Atalanta - Liverpool. That was a masterclass in naive defending. Defend against
    fast counter play? Nah.

Still, never a dull moment when Salzburg play.

This CL match is the second shortest away trip Bayern will have this

Not so fast! Check it out, that was a clear own goal by Rijeka's Filip Braut. UEFA up to their usual shenanigans, they haven't managed to do proper updates for this match since the 53rd minute.

Also, Lo Celso puts the Defaults in a three-way tie for first place.

And with Bailey's second goal of the night, suddenly the Rockers are also in contention!

Skov puts the Babes in solitary first place. Not having to split the bonus points would be huge.

COVID. O ye Weauxf Godz, you're not playing fair! *shakesfist*

    Put in Bali-c (LASK) instead.

Skov puts the Babes in solitary first place. Not having to split the bonus points would be huge.

Dabbur, and the Peaceniks break past the 4-point peloton.

Dabbur claimed to have got a touch to Skov's free-kick as well, but it appears
as if the UEFA official statistics don't believe him. Still, I'd keep an eye on

    Politano. To you, Wonderland.

Arase (up to that moment by far Rapid's worst player on the pitch) gets the
Wonderland on board. Back to you, Armata!

(also, that doesn't take anything away from Rapid's pitiful performance)

    You owe me one.

Maybe your efficiency score disagrees on that.

Last batch of matches to go. Standings:

    Pact, Babes, Defaults 6
Midgets, Peaceniks, Rockers, Tugas, Watch 4
    Bungs and Jogo 2
    Waffles and Wonderland 1

    Zlatan,
    subbed out

    Elyounoussi
    subbed out

    Yaremchuk
still on the field as Gent look for a last-ditch equalizer

    Captain Alcacer,
Started on the bench, can propel the Midgets to first place with his usual brace coming on as a sub.

    Dabbur,
    subbed out.

    Paulinho
    subbed out

In the meantime, late goals by Maddison and Willock pull the Bungs into the bonus zone (not that they'll get much of a bonus if results stand, but still...)

Nope, he stays on the bench as Villarreal completes all its substitutions. So I think that the current UtN standings are final, all that can change now is the efficiency score.

If you ever choose to pick Ladislav Krej-i|! for the Pact, you'd have to label him somehow, since there are two of them in the Sparta Prague squad (#9, born 1992, winger, four years in Serie A, 40 caps for the Czech Republic; and #37, born 1999, midfielder, U-21 Czech international).
Both played against Celtic, but the goal was scored by the elder, more famous one.

    DF: Boateng
    MF: Demme
FW: Werner 2 (x2), Stindl, Berisha, San|-, Wirtz, [Eggestein]

    Wonderland 11
    DF: Hoffmann
    (minor correction: it's Hofmann)
    MF: Ljubicic, Schwab, Arase, Grillitsch
About Grillitsch: he's a defensive midfielder. He's 25. The highest number of goals he's scored in a single German Bundesliga season is two. He had one goal in Europe before last week.
And now he's scored twice in a row in the EL just to spite me.
    FW: Mambimbi 2(x2), Ndoye, Demir
Ndoye wasn't on my radar _at all_. I also completely overlooked that Nice have a 19-year-old Austrian in defence who played the full 90 minutes.

    DF:
MF: An. Miranchuk, Erokhin, Suleymanov, Tsygankov [Mkhitaryan, Skoras, Krej-i|!]
First, why the hell did I drop Tsygankov and Mkhitaryan? Second, why do I keep on picking CSKA players? They have scored a grand total of maybe 1 goal in their past two years...
If you ever choose to pick Ladislav Krej-i|! for the Pact, you'd have to label
him somehow, since there are two of them in the Sparta Prague squad (#9, born 1992, winger, four years in Serie A, 40 caps for the Czech Republic; and #37, born 1999, midfielder, U-21 Czech international).

Both played against Celtic, but the goal was scored by the elder, more famous one.
ugh...at least the elder Tal Ben Haim is no longer at Maccabi Tel Aviv. Also, Granada's second goal was scored by one Luis Suarez of Spain, but obviously not that Luis Suarez from the non-participating Con Men.
Wait, Luis Suarez of Granada is also a Con Man (well, double nationality)! I'll have to fix the Midgets' efficiency score.

    Wonderland 11
    DF: Hoffmann
    (minor correction: it's Hofmann)
    Got it, thanks.
    MF: Ljubicic, Schwab, Arase, Grillitsch

About Grillitsch: he's a defensive midfielder. He's 25. The highest number of goals he's scored in a single German Bundesliga season is two. He had one goal
    in Europe before last week.
And now he's scored twice in a row in the EL just to spite me.
    UtN is a cruel game.
    FW: Mambimbi 2(x2), Ndoye, Demir

Ndoye wasn't on my radar _at all_. I also completely overlooked that Nice have
a 19-year-old Austrian in defence who played the full 90 minutes.
Another week with an overall efficiency score above 40%. We are getting rather good at this.

I checked how the Czechs themselves deal with that, and they call the elder Krej-i|! 'Laco' (short for Ladislav) and the younger one 'LK37'.

Partizan Belgrade for two seasons played with two unrelated Nemanja Mileti-ces that were both born in the same year as well (currently one's on Cyprus and the other one in the Saudi league).

Good catch! Granada's squad has quite the South American flavour.
I'll have to fix the Midgets' efficiency score.

Have we been much worse in previous editions?

I have data going back to 2017. Here are the goal efficiency scores:

    2017
    ---
    MD1 0.45
    MD2 0.61
    MD3 0.38
    MD4 0.31
    MD5 0.63 <-- All-time record
    MD6 0.44

    Overall: 0.48 (217 out of 454)

    2018
    ----

    MD1: 0.43
    MD2: 0.39
    MD3: 0.37
    MD4: 0.33
    MD5: 0.34
    MD6: 0.40

    Overall: 0.38 (139 out of 369)

    2019
    ----
    MD1: 0.30 <-- Worst score
    MD2: 0.39
    MD3: 0.41
    MD4: 0.34
    MD5: 0.49
    MD6: 0.32

    Overall: 0.38 (158 out of 419)

    2020
    ----
    MD1: 0.37
    MD2: 0.43
    MD3: 0.43

    Overall: 0.42 (116 out of 279)

Of course the efficiency score depends a lot on the NTs we pick and on the effort we put into managing them, so not really strictly comparable across years.

What a big impact Dabbur's slightest of touches on Skov's free-kick has made in context of this game.

Alleged touch. That piece of UEFA injustice robbed the Babes of 5.25
fully deserved points. The loot from this robbery was split with 3.75
to the Peaceniks, and 0.75 each to the Midgets and Bungs.

I believe you've overlooked Glen Kamara (Rangers, MF), who's from Finland. Or are Finns not allowed to join the Babes? I've forgotten.

I'm stretching it as it is by including the Swedes as vikings.

The analogies are just too much...better not to think about it.

Skov puts the Babes in solitary first place. Not having to split the
    bonus points would be huge.

As events unfolded, I couldn't help thinking that UEFA canceling the Babe's comeback over the Russia-supported team in first place was a metaphor for something much more sinister about to happen elsewhere.

    Fortunately, it was just Use-the-NT...
