Spain and France together in a European final?

Are we going to party like it's 1984?

Please forgive the semi OT post, but when these two teams last met in a European final the top 3 grossing films in the US that month (June 1984) were, in order, Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom and Gremlins! Good times!

Pierre Trudeau was still Prime Minister of Canada (though not for much longer). Arminia Bielefeld had just completed their best season even in
the BL (to be followed by relegation the next year). Living in
Bielefeld back then, I don't think I ran into anyone who thought of the
DDR as anything other than another country, and certainly nobody
expected that reunification would happen at all, let alone so quickly.

Ah, yes. Nothing happens all game and the minute I go to the bathroom I miss two goals. Typical.

1-1, Oyarzabal 64, Benzema 66. 73 minutes played so far. Game seems to be picking up.

Griezman plays Mbappe through into the area on the left, nice footwork, slides the ball past the keeper into the back of the net..........there is a VAR review.............Sky commentators seem to think it was offside but the goal stands. 2-1 France.

    Ten minutes left.

Everyone thought that, and it's a horrible call. The fact that Eric Garc|!a touched the ball really shouldn't have factored into the decision.
If the letter of the LOTG allows this interpretation, it's an area where the Laws are in great need of some retouching, as they were for the
    handball rule.
    Ciao,
    Werner
but the goal stands. 2-1 France.

Spain apply some pressure at the end, including having keeper Simon go up for a couple of attacks, but it's in vain - France win the 2021 Nations League!

Does Ixion still think this is a nothing tournament ? :-)

I'll say this for Deschamps, his style of play and squad selection may
not be to everyone's taste, but the Man's a winner.
