    Most baffling of all is that we|re still not out of top-4 competition, mathematically.

    The knee-jerk response would be to say keep X,Y, and Z and get rid of everyone else, but reality no club can overhaul 15 odd players in a short period of time.
    So here's my view:
    Keep - Fernandes, De Gea, Varane, Sancho, Rashford, Shaw, Elanga
    Discard immediately - Pogba, Ronaldo, Cavani, Lingard, Matic, Mata, Jones, Lindelof
    Discard or bench as soon as better replacements are found - Fred, McTominay, Maguire, Wan Bissaka, Dalot, Telles, Bailly
    So about 7-8 departures and related signings are needed in this summer. Ronaldo is the biggest problem - no one will pick his wages. Keeping him around while trying to build something new will be Ten Haag's biggest problem. What a truly terrible signing he was.
