Best penalty shoot out ever-or worst depending on how you look at it. But Senegal is deservedly through.
Lily White was over and we were jokingly saying that the penatly shoot out would end 0-0. African football is no more boring than Sweden national team-and I dont know what ehsocre is int hat game cus I was watching Sengal Egypt, which was not a boring game at all.

Were you watching with the sound down? I watched most of this year's AFCON and came away thinking that the jazzy mixture of trumpets and vuvuzelas created such a vibrant atmosphere to be worth the price of admission alone. Matches were fiercely contested, with penalty shootouts which delivered more drama than most UEFA ones I recall and even the odd refereeing controversy. What's not to like?

Surely you jest. The CAF qualifiers have been terrible in terms of quality. Just because it is close and had few dramas it doesn't make it rocking!

They are an orgy of 0-0s and 1-0s, with low technical quality and enterprise, and an overemphasis on low-block counter-attacking. If you concede the first goal, it's pretty much over in most cases.

    Curling

Croquet meets janitorial services. Not sure if this should be classified as a sport, a vocation, or a mental illness.

    Cricket, American football

Both can be quite exciting (excluding "Test" cricket, which can be auto racing level mind-numbing).

    Basketball

Agree. A flashy sport that wears thin on entertainment value, over time.

I like curling. I find it exotic. I hardly ever watch it though.

Cricket can be exciting but a lot of ODI matches are over three quarters into the matches.

Curling is big in Canada, there was a time when female Curling players were hot and when you combined that with the screaming and moaning sounds they make when shooting and sweeping, it was almost pornographic.

Cricket can be exciting but a lot of ODI matches are over three quarters into the matches.

    Basketball
Cricket and basketball (and I dont understand Cricket) seems to be games where the norm is to score every time, the "excitement " happens when you dont score.
African football has been disappointing for the last while, back in the 80s and 90s a lot of us were saying things like "an African team will win a WC in the next 10 years, that never really came close to happening. Though there was that WC where Luis Suarez hand ball saved a certain goal to stop Ghana ( or was it Senegal?) from making the Semi final.
I would say at the moment Senegal would beat any of the teams in CONCACAF or AFC and I thought the Senegal v Egypt matches were intense, though the laser shows made it a bit annoying, especially the game in Senegal, where it was like a Rock Concert.
