No good solution was available. Promoting Altglienicke when Leipzig
had the same number of points with a game hand, wouldn't exactly be
    fair either.

Nothing offical yet in Regionalliga West either. Leaders R|a-|dinghausen >> haven't applied for a 3. Bundesliga licence anyway, so it's in all
Because they won't build a 10000 capacity stadium.
likelihood currently second-placed Verl who will play against Lok Leipzig >> for a place there.

Some might say justice prevailed, as Verl won the promotion play-off thanks
to a 2-2 draw away and a 1-1 draw at 'home' in Bielefeld (Verl itself was unavailable as it's currently a Corona hotspot, thanks to Schalke [ex-]boss T|a-|nnies and his meat processing plant).

Verl is a small city (26,000 people) about halfway between Paderborn and Bielefeld, next to much bigger G|a-+tersloh (whose own professional club went
    belly up in 2000).

SC Verl have played on the third level before when it was still regionalized
and amateur, but never in the nationwide professional 3. Liga.
The other new teams in 3. Liga are VfB L|+beck, T|+rkg|+c|+ M|+nchen, and Saarbr|+cken. L|+beck were once as high as second Bundesliga, but have
been at the 4th level for the past 12 year. Saarbr|+cken was a funding member of the Bundesliga, and was last at the third level 6 years ago.

T|+rkg|+c|+ comes out of nowhere on a river of money.
Which dried up rather quickly and one-and-a-half years later they've now declared bankruptcy.
    Ciao,

Seems like the end of someone's fantasy... or maybe he just lost
interest like the Makhachkala guy did.

First they were given a (12?) point penalty, that made survival pretty
much impossible, then they withdrew completely. This meant that *all*
their results were annulled. Since Tnrkgncn had managed to take points
off *some* of the top teams, this skewed the promotion battle.

You would think that such a withdrawal would have consequences, but
Tnrkgncn is starting the Regionalliga as if nothing had happened.
