"Boost for Test stars as Victoria, NSW rearrange Shield clashes
    MALCOLM CONN

Nathan Lyon, James Pattinson and Will Pucovski finally have clarity on
their Ashes preparation after NSW and Victoria agreed to play a series of Sheffield Shield matches against each other.

The NSW Blues have been trying for a month to flee the state for quarantine
in the Northern Territory and then South Australia but have been regularly rejected.

So with Cricket Australiaos blessing, the two states in COVID-19 lockdown
will play their own parallel four-day competition, with three matches in
Sydney and Melbourne beginning this month.

Just one Sheffield Shield match has been played so far this season. Only
three have been listed on the Cricket Australia website.

Queensland are drawn to play Tasmania at Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide from Thursday after Tasmania left Queensland last week because of border closure fears.

South Australia will then play Queensland at Adelaide Oval from October 15 while Western Australia will host Tasmania at the WACA Ground from October
    17.

The only completed Shield game was a high-scoring draw between South
Australia and Western Australia at Karen Rolton Oval. Ashes Hopefuls Travis Head from SA and Cameron Green from WA were among five century-scorers.

Cricket NSW head of menos cricket, Michael Klinger, confirmed yesterday the Blues had abandoned their original plans.

Matches are planned for the SCG, MCG and Junction Oval if travel exemptions
    are granted.

iiHopefully weoll be able to play them on potentially the main grounds,oo Klinger said.

Shirley he's not saying that there'll be three NSW v Vic SS games this
    season?
