The season's only about a third done but did todays double Ferrari DNF put an end to the chase for Driver and constructor championships?

I suspect that Red Bull will have their issues as well. They still
haven't really sorted the issue with the DRS flap.

    Cheers

They did not necessarily put an end to the chase,
but they certainly did not help hopes for
    a season long close fight.

    Until today's race (6-12-2022) I believe I had decent
reasons to hope that Leclerc, Sainz and Ferrari could keep
    both championships in reasonable contention.

    I now feel less optimistic.

I also see that the odds posted at https://www.oddschecker.com/us/motorsport/formula-one?utm_source=oddschecker&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=uksite

are showing pretty clear betting favorites.

    Constructors Championship Futures | Winner
    Red Bull -300
    Ferrari +265
    Mercedes +4000
    Alpine +300000
    McLaren +300000
    Alfa Romeo +500000
    AlphaTauri +500000
    Aston Martin +500000

    for the
    Drivers Championship Futures | Winner
    Max Verstappen -250
    Charles Leclerc +350
    Sergio Perez +1300
    George Russell +5000
    Lewis Hamilton +8000
    Carlos Sainz +10000
    Fernando Alonso +100000
    Lando Norris +100000

(So, with MV at -250, if you bet $10 on
him, and he wins, the payout is just $14.00.
While with Charles Leclerc at +350, if you bet $10
on him and he wins, the payout is $45.00.
    Much better!! Much less likely.)

Yup, over...Max about to win his 1st legit championship this year. Well deserved. FIA did not have to go out of their way last year to gift him
    the fake one...

    Yes, that's correct.

Which is why he's still in their employ.

But I thought I was a minority of one in that position.

There is no way in hell that he did that on his own, without having some
kind of previous meeting and instructions what to do.

It wouldn't have been a 'previous' (to the race) meeting as he
originally said that all lapped cars would be allowed to unlap, and then changed his mind.

We know he was under a lot of pressure to do otherwise from Horner. We
don't know if he was pressured from anywhere else, but if he was, it was during that red flag period.
