6pm: Play abandoned, we'll come back again and try tomorrow... and a bit of news, too, of particular interest for 'common sense' advocates: if Sunday is also blanked by the rain, it won't come down to a bowl-out in the indoor school, because a reserve reserve day has been added: Wednesday will see the teams return to finish the competition off properly, which is a remarkable turn of events (although we shouldn't be surprised at some inventive thinking after the summer of bio-secure cricket staged by the ECB). Anyway, it's been a sorry, soggy start, but there's still some IPL to get stuck into this evening and we'll be back for more rain watch in the morning. Cheerio!
