.... or so says this morning's Herald. Can't see that happening myself, but you never know with CA and it's poo preferences. I'm surprised Alvey hasn't posted already.

Not wrong his paranoia runs deep.

Give the New Years Test to Melbourne. I'll get over missing 2 in a row

Said someone called Tony Shepherd, CEO of something called Events NSW,
which apparently "runs" The Sandpit Cricket Ground.

"We've made it very clear to Cricket Australia we're flexible and would be very, very disappointed to lose the Sydney Test," Shepherd said. "And
that's with the support of the NSW government.

"Sydney saved the day, the NSW government supported it, NSW is the cricket centre of Australia in terms of participation, players at the elite end and
at community level. We have the biggest Indian diaspora in Australia.

"The SCG is the most historic ground in Australia, second most historic
ground in the world. It's a special place. The NSW government is very supportive of having the game, and will do everything we can to have it as
    a success."

I'm sure that this bit from the puffed-up pompous prat will be well
received in Melburgh. "The SCG is the most historic ground in Australia."

Shepherd confirmed that he's an arrogant buffoon by contradicting a
previous statement with this ginornormous red flag. "All the wickets are in perfect condition". Fuck me! The head of the body which runs the dump
doesn't even know the difference between 'pitches' and 'wickets'. And if he meant 'pitches', then there is no evidence in history of his statement
    being correct.

All up, a typical display of the arrogance and self-importance of Sinney
which has made them disliked by so very many in every other State. They
don't mind risking the health of the country because they believe that
they're entitled to a game of cricket.

Informing os readers that the Premier of Qld has just been re-elected, with
an increased majority, largely due to the popularity of her guvmints'
extended hard border closure to NSW-types. Meanwhile, her NSW counterpart
was busy still bonking a known crook and former parliamentary party
collegue two years after it was known he was a crook. It says it all about Sinney that she's still in office.

Maybe he meant that the stumps and bails have just been given a new coat
    of varnish.

To be fair, "wicket" has been used as a synonym for "pitch" for a very
long time. We talk about a "sticky wicket" more often than a "sticky
    pitch, for instance.
