• The worse collapse I have seen

    From Will Sutton@24:150/2 to rec.sport.cricket on Sat Dec 19 00:47:01 2020
Normally you expect a collapse when the wicket is like a minefield but here it didn't have any spite in it. India just went down like 10 pins .

And how bad it was is shown when Joe Burns who couldnt score a run in the previous 5 innings against India scores a 1/2 century

Australia bowled incredibly well. It was the most amazing bowling I have ever seen.

As Sunil Gavaskar said, this time they bowled six inches fuller, on the stumps, making the batsmen play. It was a change from their earlier innings, where Indian batsmen did not need to play forward, remained at the crease.

The batsmen should have played forward, taken the balls on the half volley, but they did not. The ball moved just much, very dangerously, getting the nicks. Once again, it shows the need for brisk footwork in batting.

The bowling was great as it was as accurate as it was fast, quite relentless. Fielding was superb. Kohli was out of luck that way.

It was all the more strange as the Indian side should have pumped up with a first innings lead. Full credit to the Australian side, a magnificent performance, what a comeback. Absolutely unexpected.

I'll be there on the 27 th, suppose India can hold on till the end of the second day for money's worth. Channel 7 looks forlorn.

That's not a threat at any time Billbo. But in a ng that's on life support
    it's plain ludicrous.

the bad thing is if you throw in the last 7 wickets of the Indian innings and the 10 in the 2nd innings they lost 17 wickets for 92 runs
BUT if India had held their catches Australia would have been out for around 100 in the first innings and Burns had some long overdue luck in his 2nd dig . To be honest not one of the Australian bats looked good ( Paine should have been out a lot earlier if India had held their catches )
I think the 2nd Test will be closer then people think
