• Good News for Checo

    From build@24:150/2 to rec.autos.sport.f1 on Thu Dec 17 20:14:36 2020
Seems Checo will be at RedBull next year.
But, Alex stays on as reserve driver. I don't reckon that is a good career move, he needs to be in a race seat somewhere.

Note Joe Saward has published a article about this on his blog. https://joesaward.wordpress.com/

Good news indeed, if true (I think RB are due to make an announcement
    today).
IrCOve always hoped Alex would do well at RBR but it is clear that, although
he is good, he is not good enough - the team need someone who can give Max
    more support.

If I were Pierre Gasly I think I would be putting myself about a bit too
before I got bogged down at AT (a second French driver at Alpine would be
good if Alonso fails to come up to the mark).

RB was the odds on to be number two in the constructors title race anyway, but this is a good move.

But what's happening with a power unit (hate this term) supplier for after Honda quits?

Which is great news. Perez is very good.

Albon started racing when he was 8, so 16 years ago. I don't think he's suffering from a lack of racecraft.

And I expect that being Red Bull reserve driver pays better than pretty
much any other racing gig he could get.

Red Bull is asking the FIA for a one year freeze on engine development
so that they can take over the Honda engine.
