• Istanbul 2020 - Fantastic race

    From geoff@24:150/2 to rec.autos.sport.f1 on Mon Nov 16 01:59:46 2020
Interesting track - different angles and combinations of corners, a bit
of up and down. Not to mention the challenging surface - and that was
    all BEFORE the rain.

Most tracks there would have been carnage if they had the same combo of new asphalt and rain. There were a huge number of spins all weekend and no one when hard into a wall, seems the kind of track the safty first people should love.

According to the official results, Bottas was over a lap behind
Hamilton; when did Hamilton lap him? I missed having a good chuckle at
that - not at Bottas's expense of course, just at he who insists on
*marginal* differences between the two :)

Lap 46. Bottas seemed very reluctant to move over and Lewis asked the team
to remind Valtteri that blue flags were out.

I can understand his reluctance - getting lapped by your teammate must
    be a very humiliating feeling.

It seemed to me that Bottas did at least another lap, possibly more, after the first blue flag was
shown. I don't think Lewis was rubbing it in my any means.

Even in a wet rFactor2 sim, it is stonkingly good entertainment with lots of slippy sliding on the undulating countryside. Great fun on Sunday before watching the race.

Hamilton is definitely better than Bottas...
