Would love to know the tech details of how that get all those on-car
cameras transmitted to the production studio.
In one of my day jobs I do wireless microphone systems, which are a
squeeze to get many channels of into what is a reasonably wide bandwidth
in the scheme of things. And that is hugely smaller bandwidth per
channel than video, even if not HD, at relatively short range.
Of course wider bandwidths are available at higher GHz frequencies, but
these are generally more directional and have shorter range at a given
power.
Video-wise we are talking about 2+(?) cameras per car, and 22 or so
cars. All seemingly available in real-time.
This article provides some details, but lacks specifics like frequencies
and bandwidths and transmission technology (which is presumably
different to the timing-loop side of things)
