I was finally able to find some help on google, though it took quite some time. I think I've got everything working now and the interface is active.
I'm able to just append the IP address of the offending connector the the black.list file, then restart snort.exe every 30 minutes. It seems to work
as a really pro-active firewall! I'd strongly suggest something like this,
if your existing solution can't block IPs that try to attack you.
