I don't remember watching anything he made which was genuinely *good*, but it was always entertaining. He also seemed like a chill but non-bullshit person. End of an era.
He was even cooler away from the camera.
He was the Professional Full-Contact Middleweight Karate Champion from 1968 until he retired in 1974. He held 10th-degree black belts in Chun Kuk Do (his own style) and Tang Soo
Do, along with black belts in Tae Kwon Do, Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Judo.
He got into acting because Steve McQueen, one of Chuck's karate students, thought Chuck would be great on screen.
Chuck was also a US Air Force veteran and was made an honorary US Marine for his service to help Marines.
He also founded the "Kickstart Kids" program, a non-profit that teaches
martial arts to middle school students to build character.
Chcuk Norris was an all-around good guy and there'll never be another one
like him.
I enjoyed at how he poked fun at himself in "The Expendables 2" (IIRC).
