Mine didn't last near that long at a time. That would have been
    scary. :O

It was scary, I'll admit, and very uncomfortable. I'll see if my primary care provider (PCP) will refer me to cardiology or not. I may have to goi back on isosorbide mononitrate again and I'm hoping I don't have to.

(The discussion is about preventicular contractions or PVCs, a heart condition where the bottom of the heart beats before the top, causing irregular heart rhythms and fluttering in the chest.)

    Unnoticed? Interesting.

Yes, PVCs can be very minor and go unnoticed. With me, my PVCs are pretty bad at times due to having teo heart attacks.

And sufficient hydration is the key? ..interesting.

He was speaking of the headache I had at the timr, not the PVCs.

However, the PVCs I was having could cause headaches due to the sudden interruption of blood flow, according to the ER doctor who saw me.

PVCs. I got diagnosed with that several years ago. Apparently, everyone
has them and they usually go unnoticed, [...]

    Unnoticed? Interesting.

Like I said, if they notice it feels like a skipped beat (but isn't).
Sitting here right now reading and writing messages, I cannot even feel my heartbeat. If it were to have a single PVC in among its beats, pretty sure
    I'd not know.

If you get a bunch in a row, it feels like a flutter in your chest. If
that goes on for more than a few seconds, it can be disconcerting.

And sufficient hydration is the key? ..interesting.

For me, yes, that apparently is what caused it to happen enough to be noticable. For others, it could be caused by other things. If someone was having them and regularly noticing them, they should probably talk to their doctor about it, especially if they have a history (their own, or family)
    of heart issues.

They had me wear a 24hr heart monitor, which lead to the diagnosis (i.e.
that I have PVCs more often than what is considered normal, but not often enough to be worried about or medicated for).

Actually, in relation to my experience, I was speaking of both. Being dehydrated was what set the PVCs off enough that it scared me into going to
    the ER.

After being told what had happened, I realized I had been having them
before but never an "episode" of so many together where I actually got
    worried about them.

I don't have a history of heart attacks, though, which would definately make
me much more concerned about them if I did.
