It's a chest cold turning into bronchitis. Nothing new for me but
definitely not something I like.

At that age, even a cold can be bad news. Hope she continues to do better. Assisted living might be a good option. It helped my late paternal grandmother live a good life until she passed at the age of 99.

Yeah, we're hoping to get her some assistance with scheduling, meals,
and having some social outlets. She had a hard time meeting people
living alone, the places we've looked at have had a lot of activities
(both mental and social) for her.

I was at Walmart the other day and they already are setting
up Valentine's Day candy and goods. Everything is just so
damn commercialized these days.

Well.. if you owned a retail biz that relies on some Valentines
Day placements, like flowers, candies, cards, gifts.. you might
succumb to the same thing.

Dropping Christmas-themed things and putting up Valentines Day
things 4 weeks prior seems like a good business plan to me. ;)

I worked at a last-minute gift ecommerce site. Our all-hands-on-deck

That's terrible. I had a case of acute bronchitis, luckily I was sick for 2-3 days, then felt better but had a cough that wouldn't go away for a month or so. Could have been worse. I feel like I was popping Ricola cough drops continually that month...

caused that file's inode to get erased.

Lesson learned: make sure you delete the right file the first time. :(

We all do that. I did it recently and all I have to do is hit P for PUT
the rep packet which deletes it after it's sent. I hit G for get and my program happily deleted the REP packet.

Does file undeletion still work with modern file systems? I remember
with FAT it was easy, the file just had a $ as the first character.

ext4 immediately clears the inode for the deleted file so unless you can undelete it immediately, it's likely gone forever if you do any disk usage after the deletion before you try to undelete it.

I am doing okay. I am feeling a bit blah from being injected with many
various industrial-grade antibiotics. I am prone to get drug-resistant bacteria in my wounds, such as MRSA, so I have to take antibiotics that
require me to me hospitalized.

I brought my mobility scooter and I can terrorize everyone...mwahahaha!

I had that happen once or twice when I was younger... I knew I had the
wound but as it didn't bleed I forgot about it! I didn't have to go to hospital, though.
