you are connecting to a wrong hostname.

you are connecting to a wrong hostname.
in my cfg it's not .com, it's applewoodbbs.linkpc.net
Also a good idea is to use "*" as a backup, even if you define the
address manually.
Like:
node 2:25/21@fidonet applewoodbbs.linkpc.net;*
