    I am testing email and can receive it but cannot send as my host allows only authenicated smtp. I tried the same as bpop with bsmtp but no go

    Is it in the cards?

    "bbbs bsmtp" can't do authentication. You should run local smtp relay (Postfix or similar) and transmit mails:

    bbbs -> postfix@localhost -> world

    Or:

    bbbs -> postfix@localhost -> isp relay -> world

    First setup is Postfix's default configuration, second one needs few lines of configuration for authentication and such.

    I never thought of that and it would be handy to have a home mail server again. Used to do it back in the day when the internet was not so dodgy :)

    I have it relaying to my own ISP for now. I don't know why I forgot about it
