Right now when I get a FTN echo area that I don't have setup in SBBS,
it show up in the sbbsecho.log as a passthru. Is there a setting to get Synchronet to auto create the FTN area?

Well, it exactly answered the specific question that you asked.
If you'd like me to search the Wiki and give you more info, I'd
suggest searching (on the Wiki) for things like:
auto create
areas.bbs
sbbsecho.ini
Or even these specific terms:
AutoAddSubs
AutoAddToAreaFile
And this configuration utility:
echocfg
Let us know if you need more info!

I've been testing my setup by deleting the "BBS Ads" message area in fidonet. That area is in my areas.bbs with my uplink, and of course backbone.na. SBBSECHO keeps treating as a passthru. I'm just trying to figure how to get sbbsecho to "create" a new message area.
