In another life, I had one of those chest freezers in the garage with a vacuum saver bagger. I miss being able to buy meat in bulk.

I had one of those too, when I had a house. Currently I live in an apartment, and when I got married again, my wife moved in with me, and I bought a chest freezer for the apartment. I put it in the dining area, and although somewhat cramped, there's still enough room to get around the dining table with the freezer there.

We have another one in our freezer as well, which the inlaws got for free. We'll have it at Christmas, as well as a small ham, since my daughter and I are the only ones in the house who still eat it.

I have two full-size refrigerators, with associated freezers; and a
chest freezer, and a stand-up freezer. No vacuum bagger though. :-)

It helps us to keep food on-hand during hurricane season.

    What's a vacuum saver bagger?

Ours is in the "Living room" but a section of it we use for the table.
The actual dining room is my son's bedroom (who I haven't heard from in
    a week and a bit).

The smaller chest freezers are a life saver!

It's a device that takes open plastic bags, sucks the air out and seals
them with heat. Great for portioning out and freezing meat and
    leftovers.

    Hi Mro,
Would you ever cook a ham? Boiled in half-coke-half-water and then roasted with a brown sugar and mustard glaze.

    Something special alright!

Unsure why it's addressed to me.... Anyway, ,that doesn't sound good to me
but I only like sweet on desert type things, I don't like it on anything that my
    mind thinks should be savory.
